Frequently asked questions
How DeepLinkNow works, what it collects and what it costs.
General
What is DeepLinkNow?
DeepLinkNow (DLN) tells your app what a user was trying to open before they crossed from the web into your app. It hosts Universal Links and App Links on your domain, shows a landing page that sends each platform to the right store, and after install the SDK hands your app the original path and query parameters.
How is it different from Branch, AppsFlyer and other MMPs?
Those are mobile measurement and attribution platforms that also do deep linking. DLN only does deep links and deferred deep links. There's no attribution, the SDKs never read advertising IDs, and the link page loads no third-party tracking scripts, so ad blockers leave it alone. For analytics, the SDK gives you the link data to send to whatever tool you use.
Do I have to create every link in the dashboard?
No. Any path and query string on your app's domain is a valid link, for example yourapp.deeplinknow.com/products/123?ref=newsletter. After install your app receives the path /products/123 and the parameters { ref: "newsletter" }. Dashboard links are optional, for custom titles, images or campaigns.
Technical
Which platforms and SDKs are supported?
There are four SDKs: iOS (Swift), Android (Kotlin), React Native, which also works with Expo development builds, and Flutter (the deeplinknow package on pub.dev, which also works in FlutterFlow). The React Native and Flutter SDKs wrap the native ones, so every platform gets the same answers. The REST API covers link and campaign management, and an MCP server lets coding agents like Claude Code and Cursor set DeepLinkNow up from the docs.
How does deferred deep linking work on Android?
The landing page puts a reference to the click in the Play Store referrer parameter. After install the SDK reads the Play Install Referrer and looks the click up. This is exact. If the referrer is missing, the SDK falls back to fingerprint matching.
How does it work on iOS?
iOS can't pass data through the App Store, so the landing page copies the link to the clipboard before sending the user to the App Store. On first launch the SDK reads the pasteboard; on iOS 16 and later the system may ask the user to allow the paste. If there is no link on the clipboard, the SDK falls back to fingerprint matching.
How reliable is fingerprint matching?
It is a best-effort backup. On iOS the IP address is often masked or changes (iCloud Private Relay, carrier NAT, Wi-Fi to cellular), so DLN does not require an IP match. The server returns scored candidates with a confidence score from 0 to 100 and a HIGH, MEDIUM or LOW label, and you choose the threshold your app acts on.
Privacy & compliance
What data do you collect?
When someone opens a link, the landing page stores a small device description for matching: IP address, user agent, OS version, screen size, language, time zone and the link's path and parameters. The SDKs send similar device details plus an app-scoped device ID (the IDFV on iOS, ANDROID_ID on Android). We never read advertising IDs. IP addresses are personal data, which is why we keep them only briefly.
How long do you keep it?
A deferred link can be claimed for 1 hour after the click. Stored fingerprints, including the IP address, are deleted within 30 days. Click records lose their IP address and user agent after 30 days; only aggregate counts are kept for your dashboard.
Do I need the ATT prompt?
No. The SDKs don't read the IDFA, don't link AppTrackingTransparency or AdSupport, and declare NSPrivacyTracking = false in their privacy manifest. DLN is not used for tracking across apps or websites.
Is DeepLinkNow GDPR-friendly?
DLN acts as a data processor for your app, collects only what matching needs and keeps it briefly. You remain the controller and are responsible for telling your users about it in your privacy notice. A data processing agreement is available on request.
Pricing & billing
How does pricing work?
Developer is free for up to 25,000 SDK monthly active users. Startup is $49/month for up to 100,000, Growth is $149/month for up to 500,000, and Enterprise starts at $500/month, billed annually, with custom limits, invoicing against purchase orders, a DPA and priority support. Enterprise includes single sign-on (Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Google Workspace); an audit log is coming soon. Startup and Growth are billed monthly.
What counts as a monthly active user?
A distinct device that initialized the SDK for your app in a calendar month (UTC). Link clicks and match requests don't add MAU, and going over your plan's MAU never stops your links or SDK calls from working.
Can my team share a workspace?
Yes. Invite teammates from Settings › Team as admins or members: Startup includes 3 people, Growth 5, Enterprise any number, and Developer is for one person. Everyone signs in with their own email code, Google or GitHub account, and the workspace owns the apps, links and billing, so nothing depends on one person staying.
Is there a trial period or yearly billing?
There's no trial period because the Developer plan is free, with no credit card required. Startup and Growth are billed monthly only: you can cancel any time and keep paid features until the end of the billing period. Enterprise is billed annually.
